Boys Brigade Company

The aim of the activities is to help boys to develop both as individuals and as members of a group, and to help them develop a sense of responsibility towards family, friends, and society.

The Anchor Boy Section caters for boys aged 5 – 8 and provides a programme of games, handicrafts and stories.

The Junior Section operates a programme for boys aged 8 -12 consisting of a varied achievement scheme of badge work plus sporting activities such as football, athletics and cross country running.

The Company Section is for young men aged 11 -18 who follow an award system of badges covering general and specialised training under the headings community, interests, physical, adventure and brigade leadership. The programme also includes sporting activities, expeditions, and camping. Senior boys (15+) are encouraged to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme.

The 7th Southampton Company of the Boys Brigade is part of a widespread uniformed organisation providing a wide programme of activities for boys and young men aged 5 -18, in three groups.
